New Tolar bus shelter installed in City of Lynwood

~ 56 customized shelters to be installed through out the community ~

Tolar Manufacturing Company joined the City of Lynwood to celebrate the first installment of 56 newly designed and fabricated customized transit shelters. The ribbon cutting ceremony was held at a popular stop serving Lynwood’s Breeze Trolley as well as Los Angeles Metro buses.

The 56 custom shelters will feature a variation on Tolar’s Signature Sunset Series line and include curved sunroofs, custom branded steel strap bus benches and trash receptacles. Stops will also include solar illumination.

“The City Council and Public Works Department are continuously looking for opportunities to improve the streets of our community. As Mayor, it is great to know our residents will be sheltered in style while waiting for Lynwood transportation services or Metro Bus Line to travel throughout our area. This is one of many projects that helps to beautify the city,” stated City of Lynwood Mayor Edwin Hernandez. During the ceremony, Patrick Merrick, EVP of Tolar Manufacturing thanked city officials for the opportunity to build the transit shelters in their community stating, “We know Lynwood residents and passengers will appreciate the comfortable and safe place to wait for the trolley or bus as they prepare to get to work, school, medical appointments, shopping and social activities. We are pleased that our team could help the City execute on its vision.”
