In 2018, Tolar Manufacturing was awarded a second five-year contract to manufacture up to 90 bus shelters for the Indianapolis Public Transportation Company (IndyGo). Most bus shelters are 5′ x 10′ in size and modeled after the company’s popular Signature Sunset series. Some shelters have a larger footprint and are incorporated into the agency’s Super Stops program, which enhances the experience for IndyGo riders by providing shelter from the elements while waiting for the bus. Importantly, the shelters include solar illumination to provide the utmost passenger safety. Other amenities include seat-delineated benches, revenue-generating advertising displays, and trash receptacles.
